Irregular Spanish Verbs

Spanish Preterite Irregular Verb

The Spanish preterite irregular verb form (or present irregular verb form) relates to events/actions happening in the present: I see, he talks and we think are all examples of verbs conjugated in the present tense.

Unlike regular Spanish verbs, there are no rules for how -ar, -er and -ir irregular Spanish verbs end: the verb endings for each irregular verb in Spanish have to be learned in their own right. Having said this, once a number of irregular verbs have been learned, patterns do begin to emerge which further aids learning.
