Learning to Speak Spanish

I just wanted to post a little language learning tip I picked up when I started learning to speak Spanish. Read a Spanish book but at the same time have a copy of the book in English. And a Spanish-English dictionary of course! With this method, you can learn new words and also see someone's interpretation of a Spanish phrase in English.

Sometimes, particularly when you are initially learning to speak Spanish, there is a tendency to literally translate English phrases into Spanish, which can sound extremely funny to native Spanish speakers. So it's not only important to learn Spanish words but to also learn the way that things are said.

Summer is Officially Here

Big Brother 7 had its first airing on tv last night... this officially marks the start of summer for us Brits as BB covers the summer months.

I didn't watch the show last night, I was working on our new site (Muscle & Fitness)... but no doubt I will be unable to avoid watching it at some point (my wife likes to watch it).

Bad Luck Middlesborough

Middlesborough have lost by 4-0 to Sevilla (a team from Andalusia) in the UEFA Cup final this evening. Middlesborough were well beaten by the better Spanish side on the night.

Its a sad end for Middlesborough manager Steve McClaren, who will go on to become England's new manager when Sven Goran Erikkson leaves the role after the World Cup finals this summer. Good luck Steve!
